Establish WSH Policy and Advise on WSH Legal Compliance Issues
About This Course
This unit of competency specifies the knowledge,
skills and attitudes required of a WSH Officer to
interpret and relate the relevant requirements from the WSH Act, Singapore Standards (SS) and Code of Practice (CP) for setting up WSH policy relevant to the organization, and advising the management on the appropriate legal compliance measures to ensure safe and healthy workplace practices and risk control.
What You'll Learn
PS2 Develop WSH organisation structure and identify organisation-wide programmes to implement WSH policy and objectives
PS3 Communicate and advice WSH policy, objectives and applicable WSH legal and other requirements to relevant stakeholders for compliance
PS4 Develop methods to monitor the progress towards achieving the WSH policy, objectives compliance to applicable legal and other requirements in the organization
PS5 Update stakeholders on new or amended legal and other requirements to maintain compliance
PS6 Develop process for effective review of WSH policy and objectives according to organizational requirements
Entry Requirements
EITHER
• Technology/Science-related/Engineering diplomas from local Polytechnics, ITE or BCA Academy; OR
• Technology/Science-related/Engineering degrees from local autonomous universities; OR
• Foreign qualifications to be considered with reference to Professional Engineers (Approved Qualifications) Notification from the Professional Engineers Board Singapore; AND
• At least 2 years of WSH relevant working experience; AND
• Completed 3 Pre-Requisite Modules, with at least 1 module from Group 1 (Industry Modules) and at least 1 module from Group 2 (Soft Skills)
OR
• Possess ES Workplace Literacy Level 6 or GCE “O” Level English grade C6; AND
• Possess ES Workplace Numeracy Level 6 or GCE “O” level Maths grade C6 or Maths Bridging Course; AND
• Possess GCE “O” Level Science (Physics) grade C6, or Physics bridging course; AND
• Possess Advanced Certificate in WSH (Level B) – Safety Coordinators Training Course (SCTC) is not considered to be equivalent; AND
