Master of Arts (Literary Studies)
About This Course
The Master of Arts (Literary Studies) is designed to provide a consolidated foundation for postgraduate scholarship in the discipline. It is targeted to students who wish to enrich their intellectual understanding of the linkages between literature, and cultural, ideological, and artistic formations, more broadly. The curriculum accomplishes this purpose
-by imparting a cogent understanding of the discipline through intensive exposure to the areas, methods, and topics in the discipline.
- through enabling curriculum choices that emphasize the conjunction of literary studies with other disciplines in the critical humanities
-by imparting scholarly expertise to students through close interactions with faculty members in their areas of specialization.
The Degree by Course-work curriculum is especially designed to provide an advanced knowledge-base and professional skills for scholars and practicing teachers who may not be interested in academic research.
