About This Course
This introductory course provides a comprehensive foundation in oil painting, focusing on colour theory, tonal values, and essential painting techniques. Learners will explore colour intensity, complementary colours, and colour harmony, begin with black-and-white studies, and gradually introduce colour. Through structured exercises, learners will acquire key techniques such as impasto with brush and palette knife, broken colour, and sgraffito, applying them to landscape paintings. The course supports the development of confidence in brushwork, composition, and an understanding of light and form.
This course is suitable for beginners with no prior experience in oil painting.
