Implement Fundamentals of Corrosion and Corrosion Prevention (SF) (Classroom & Asynchronous)
About This Course
.At the end of the course, the learner will be able to:
• Identify and assess the possible corrosion-related problems and consequences (factors affecting direct and indirect costs)
• Demonstrate the corrosion initiation process on ferrous metals with an electrolytic cell
• Identify the different types of corrosion in ferrous and non-ferrous metals
• Identify and assess the types of corrosion in different applications
• Identify corrosion-related problems from photographs taken on-site and offer proven solutions to the issue
• Identify and explain International standards presently in common use
• Identify the equipments and the ancillary equipments needed to meet different standards
• Identify the need for personal safety equipment
• Verify the basics of paints or coatings
• Prepare the technical specifications and tender document
• Select the correct paint / coating to address the corrosion problem
• Demonstrate the basic elements and procedure for conducting a salt
What You'll Learn
Case studies of real corrosion problems in different industrial applications will be used to help students understand the causes and possible preventive methods. Furthermore, students will be given the opportunity to train in the use of both conventional and modern facilities available for corrosion characterisation.
