Deterrence (Perform Security Duties at Protected Areas and Protected Places)
About This Course
The learning objective of deterrence is to equip learners with skills and knowledge to perform security duties and be able to apply appropriate actions to deter undesired outcomes at protected areas and places based on the organizational standard operational procedures under the Infrastructure Protection Act (IPA) 2017 which includes the following:
1- Interpret and know the act to provide for the protection of certain areas, places and other premises in Singapore against security risks
2- Apply the Rules of Engagement to handle security related incidents based on the power within and in the surrounding area of protected areas and protected places
3- Follow organizational standards based on Infrastructure Act 2017 and perform the role of authorized officer in guarding protected areas and places

Unit 2 – Enforcing security at a specified surrounding area of a protected area and a protected place
Unit 3 – Managing denial of entry to unauthorised person and persons banned from entering the premises

They are assumed to:
Listening/speaking English: 4
Reading/writing English: 4
Numeracy: 4
Demographics
Singaporeans or Singapore PR of all races
Malaysians
Male & Female
Age ranges from 20 to 65
Physiological
Physically fit and have no known learning disabilities
Aptitude
Learners, who are able to read, understand and write simple English.
Minimum Primary Education
During the course application, applicants who do not fully meet the entry requirements, will be subject to a counselling session with the admin staff.
