About This Course
The 2-day professional development workshop, in Chinese, is designed to help participants understand the importance of art in young children's learning and development and to describe elements of an art program within a developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum.
What You'll Learn
Participants will:
1. Understand and apply the core ideas in the development of early childhood art
- Participants will get an insight to the stages of artistic development in Young Children and apply the core ideas in the development of early childhood art.
- Participants will get an insight to how art can be integrated with other developmental areas in a pre-school curriculum and understand its benefits through theories and discussions with authentic case studies and activities at the studio and museum trip.
2. Experiment with elements of art in creating artworks using a variety of media and techniques
- Visual presentation of Children’s works of Art: Participants will get an insight to different Elements of Art: lines, colours, shapes, patterns, textures etc
- Studio Works: Experience the process of using a variety of media and tools to create 2-D and 3-D works.
They will be taught Fine Art Techniques like relief printing, etching, foam printing for better understanding and application of a variety of art materials, techniques and processes
3. Appreciate the role of art in the development of young children
- Participants will understand the importance and impact of visual art on the development of creativity in young children
4. Intentionally and systematically introduce art experiences into the early childhood curriculum and the daily programme routine
