This course will equip participants with the necessary theoretical foundation and practical application skills to carry out the work for safety and connection requirements
What You'll Learn
Safety & Licensing Requirements
• Understanding and interpreting Electricity Act (Cap. 89A) and its Subsidiary Legislation
• Understand the legislation of PTW. The Competent Person as defined in the Regulation
• Case study on electrical incidents
• Understand the types of installation licence and their application
• Understand the concept of TNS and TT systems
• Introduction to ELISE and Step-by-step guide in submitting online application to EMA using ELISE for a LEW licence or EI/SI licence.
The Supply Connection Process
• Understand the importance of completing the appropriate forms under COC, SOTO and their requirements in the Supply Connection Process
• List the procedures in "How to Apply for Electricity Connection"
• Describe the turn on requirements for low voltage MSB. Reference is made to LV MSB in workshop
• List the switch room requirements

Entry Requirements
Applicants are required to have:
• At least 5 years as a Practicing Licensed Electrician; or
• Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering from Singapore Polytechnic or Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and at least 1 year of relevant practical work experience (only required to complete the practical modules by SIPG)
The course is optional for applicants with:
• Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering from Singapore Polytechnic or Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and o At least 2 years of relevant practical work experience
