About This Course
The 2-day workshop aims to motivate and inspire learners in making outdoors an integral part of infants’ and toddlers’ early experiences. Learners will be equipped with knowledge and strategies that will foster confidence in planning and facilitating outdoor experiences that are both purposeful and enjoyable. Learners will gain an understanding of how to use the natural and made-made spaces that are within the immediate environment of their early years' centres to design outdoor experiences.
Learners will also learn how to conduct a benefit-risk assessment and explore risk management strategies to mitigate the risks and maximise benefits/ opportunities.
What You'll Learn
On completion of this course, learners will be able to:
1. Reflect on educators’ and children’s dispositions, values, attitudes towards outdoor learning.
2. Design and facilitate meaningful outdoor learning activities for infants and toddlers (birth to 2).
3. Develop strategies for bringing infants and toddlers outdoors and learn through play, exploration, and discovery.
4. Utilize outdoor learning (OL) spaces and experiences within the immediate environment of their early years' facilities.
5. Conduct a benefit-risk assessment and explore risk management strategies.

ECDA-certified as EY1/EY2 educarers.
