About This Course
The Generic Manufacturing Skills (GMS) WSQ framework aims to raise the
professionalism of the workforce. This Competency Unit aims to equip industry
workforce with knowledge and skills in operating explosive powered tool in any
workplace.
What You'll Learn
PS1. State the safety requirements of the WSH (Explosive Powered Tools) Regulations
PS2. Identify the types of explosives powered tools and principle parts of explosive
powered tools
PS3. Identify correct power selection and positioning
PS4. Select the correct type of charges/fasteners for various types of base materials
PS5. Carry out pre-operations safety checks for tools and accessories
PS6. Operate explosive powered tools safely
PS7. Load and unload cartridges
PS8. Execute troubleshooting procedures and emergency response procedure
PS9. Clean, maintain and store explosive powered tools and accessories after use
PS10. Perform routine check and clean of tools and accessories
PS11. Perform fixing to concrete and steel
PS12. Perform tools disassembly and reassembly
PS13. Identify hazards related to explosive powered tool operation and implement control
measures
