Vocal Pedagogy
About This Course
Choir directors, teachers or Head Of Departments overseeing school choir programmes, as well as private voice teachers will find this module useful in helping them teach or plan choral or vocal activities with students. The module introduces the basics of Vocal Pedagogy through an understanding of the systems of speech/singing, and will consist of a mixed approach of hands on teaching with a survey of the current literature on the subject. This course will encourage innovation in problem solving related to vocal pedagogy and lesson design, develop and implement coaching and mentoring approaches to address learner developmental needs, and equip students with research tools to critically assess resources.
