Engaging Youth-At-Risk Through Counselling Techniques (Classroom, Synchronous & Asynchronous)
About This Course
This course aims to equip learners with the competencies to support the implementation
of appropriate paracounselling approaches when working with youth-at-risk.
At the end of the course, learners are required to undergo an assessment which comprises a case study and role play.

What You'll Learn
1. Apply techniques of counselling to effectively interact with clients.
2. Apply principles and procedures of gaining informed consent from clients.
3. Apply probing techniques to determine underlying issues to a problem faced by clients.
Entry Requirements
The skills and knowledge for this course, which the learner is assumed to possess, are as follows:
• English proficiency level equivalent to Grade C6 of GCE ‘O’ Level English or Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualifications (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 5.
• Numeracy skills at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualifications (ES WSQ) Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 5.
• Basic Information and Communications Technology (ICT) skills.
