What You'll Learn
From shiitakes to truffles, mushrooms can range from everyday food fare to a costly food delicacy. Rich in proteins, micronutrients and antioxidants, many mushrooms have high nutritional and medicinal values. This high-value crop is well suited to be grown in urban setting. They do not require sunlight, can be grown vertically in confined space, and thrive on waste materials such as food composts and coffee grounds which are abundant in a city.
