PWM-Security : Incident Response (Handle Security Incidents and Services)
About This Course
This course is only for the low wage workers in the PWM-Security Sector.
Incident Management describes the activities of an organisation to identify, analyse and correct hazards to prevent a future re-occurrence (“Wikipedia Incident Management”, n.d. para.1). According to the Data Bridge Market Research (2020), the incident and emergency management market is expected to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 5.97% in 2020 to 2027. Indeed, with the recent Covid-19 pandemic, organisations are exploring new business opportunities in incidence management. Workers should be trained so that they can take up new job roles involving incidence response and management.
Locally, there has been an increase in workplace incidences and fatalities (CNA, 27 Nov 2020). In a learning report released by the Ministry of Manpower (March 2020) regarding an incidence involving exposed pipes, it was found that workers were not familiar with the actions to be taken in an emergency. Workers need to be trained to handle workplace incidences and emergencies.
In addition, the threat of terror attacks is at its peak. There is an urgent need to gear up workers to deal with the possibilities of such threats and emergency-related incidences.
This course aims to equip learners with the relevant knowledge and skills, as well as the skills to use appropriate technology, to meet the increased demand in security services. This course will address the following performance gaps :
