What You'll Learn
With advancement in technology, vast amount of data is being generated and collected each day. Wading through thousands of rows and columns of data can be overwhelming for many. What is the best way to make sense of this data deluge? One way is using data visualisation. Data visualisation can help distill large datasets into visual representations that are easily comprehended by the human brain. Visual representations also make it easier for patterns and trends to be detected and for insights to be communicated effectively. While the surge in data visualization tools in recent years has helped to present the “what” of the data, businesses still struggle with communicating the “why” and “what’s next” of their data findings to the stakeholders. This can hamper the decision-making process, and businesses are thus still unable to fully harness the hidden value behind the sheer volume of data. So how can this gap be plugged? The answer is Data Storytelling.
