FTI6002 Internet of Things for a Connected World
About This Course
This module explores the hardware, technologies, operations and software involved in the world of IoT. We will explore disruptive innovations made possible by IoT, with hands-on-examples from Singapore's Living Lab. We aim to overview the entire ecosystem from single devices to smart cities, and consider questions ranging from how to implement IoT up to consideration of how it can provide strategic advantages in business.
Having completed this module, the student will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:
1. The architecture and operation of embedded IoT systems
2. Software development and deployment of embedded IoT systems
3. Operation, maintenance and analysis of IoT in the real world
4. The taxonomy of embedded IoT devices, sensors and networks
5. State-of-the-art in IoT, current constraints and future trends
Additionally, students will have mastered the skills to be able to:
6. Analyse IoT systems behaviour, operations and maintenance issues
7. Interact directly with IoT devices
