What You'll Learn

This module introduces participants to the knowledge of holistic assessment for Seniors. Participants will learn various tools used in the physical and psychosocial assessment of the aged in the community. They will appreciate how holistic assessment works to reduce the time and promotes greater equity in the process of assessment. Upon completion of this module, participants will be able to independently conduct cognitive, dementia, social, health and fitness, and caregiver assessment.

Entry Requirements

a. Local Polytechnic Diploma or higher qualifications of any discipline which offer module(s) in any of the following areas:

• Allied Health
• Humanities and Social Sciences
• Sports Sciences
• Health Promotion
• Sports Coaching
• Public Health

b. Applicants with Local Polytechnic Diploma or higher qualifications but not taken any of the abovementioned academic modules e.g. Diploma in IT, may qualify for the programme with at least 2 years relevant working experience

c. Applicants do not meet the above entry requirement may be required to be further assessed through an interview and/or submission of a written essay on a given topic. Relevant experience encompasses additional related trainings, short course, workshops, or certifications obtained.
