What You'll Learn

This module provides trainees with in-depth knowledge of deploying BIM frameworks within an organization, focusing on the formulation of implementation strategies, standard operating procedures, and governance guidelines. Trainees will master key national frameworks, including the Singapore BIM Guide, Submission Guidelines, and Essential Guides, alongside critical risk management concepts covering legal implications, BIM Particular Conditions, and Collaborative Contracting models that mitigate traditional adversarial constraints.
To mirror cutting-edge industry practices, trainees will actively integrate generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot) throughout the module's core project workflow. Leveraging these AI assistants, trainees will accelerate insight gathering, develop compliance strategies, and author a comprehensive BIM Execution Plan (BEP). AI-enabled tools will be utilized to conduct data-driven evaluations, justify strategic management decisions, and report outcomes efficiently, equipping trainees with the skills to lead tech-forward BIM implementation and digital delivery strategies.

Entry Requirements

The applicant shall be a graduate of a relevant Architectural, Landscape Architectural, Civil & Structural Engineering, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering or other related diplomas, with prior BIM software knowledge, from any of the polytechnics in Singapore. Applicants with other equivalent qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The prior BIM knowledge and skills may be attained through applicant's Graduate Diploma or equivalent qualification, in any Core or Elective Module, or through attending any BIM Basic/Fundamental short courses from any Polytechnic or recognised institution e.g. BCA Academy, etc. Applicants must provide a certification of proof for the above in their application. The prior knowledge should include either:
• Autodesk Revit or
• Graphisoft ArchiCad or
• Bentley Aecosim
