Specialist Diploma in Semiconductor Technology
About This Course
Powering the Future: Master the Technologies Behind Modern Electronics
Semiconductors are the foundation of modern technology, powering innovations such as smartphones, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, electric vehicles, smart factories, and advanced robotics. As Singapore continues to strengthen its position as a global semiconductor hub, companies such as Micron, GlobalFoundries, and SSMC are expanding their operations, creating growing demand for skilled professionals in the semiconductor sector.
The Specialist Diploma in Semiconductor Technology is designed to equip learners with industry-relevant knowledge and practical skills across key areas of semiconductor manufacturing. Learners will gain exposure to wafer fabrication, IC assembly and testing, process troubleshooting, cleanroom practices, and semiconductor production processes.
Through hands-on training in Temasek Polytechnic’s specialised cleanroom facilities and laboratories, learners will develop practical competencies and gain experience with technologies and processes commonly used in modern semiconductor environments.
This programme is suitable for both early-career and mid-career professionals who wish to deepen their technical expertise, transition into the semiconductor industry, or enhance their capabilities to remain relevant in Singapore’s rapidly evolving advanced manufacturing landscape. Join us and be part of the technology shaping the future.
What You'll Learn
Gain practical experience in wafer fabrication and cleanroom operations using industry-standard semiconductor equipment and processes. Learners will be exposed to areas such as photolithography, plasma etching, diffusion processes, and contamination control within TP’s specialised cleanroom facilities.
2. INDUSTRY-RELEVANT SKILLS IN IC TESTING & PROCESS TROUBLESHOOTING
Develop applied skills in integrated circuit (IC) testing, process analysis, and troubleshooting to support semiconductor manufacturing and quality assurance. Learn how semiconductor devices are tested, validated, and optimised in real-world production environments.
3. EXPOSURE TO ADVANCED SEMICONDUCTOR ANALYSIS TOOLS
Work with advanced characterisation and failure analysis equipment used in the semiconductor industry, including Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM), advanced material characterisation and semiconductor analysis equipment. Gain exposure to the techniques used to investigate defects, improve reliability, and support advanced manufacturing processes.
