At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
• Identify the common defects of various building components.
• Examine the causes and to understand their implications to an efficient design, construction and operation of a facility.
• Compare the durability, sustainability and maintainability of common materials used in a building under tropical conditions.
• Evaluate the efficiency of various building diagnosis and repair technologies.
What You'll Learn
With the motto of ""doing it right the first time"", this course focuses on how to design, construct and operate efficient facilities that require minimum maintenance by providing (1) knowledge learnt from past mistakes; (2) quality benchmarks, to ensure high maintainability. Acceptable standards in design, construction and operation practices based on predictive/preventive approach will be provided. Highlights of the course include facade inspection for falling objects from tall buildings in Singapore.
The course will introduce the use of AI, AR/VR, and 5G to participants using case studies and during the hands-on sessions.
