Introduction to the Event Industry
About This Course
This module adopts an integrated learning approach to give students an overview of the local events industry, as well as trends and developments, challenges and opportunities, stakeholder relationships, events team structure, critical event management processes and key success factors. Real-life scenarios will be used in lesson packages to give students an insightful study of how various types of events are organized, managed and executed.
What You'll Learn
The events industry in Singapore has been growing exponentially in recent years and is projected to continue expanding as more mega events such as Formula 1 Grand Prix, Singapore International Water Week and others are being staged here. This will result in the creation of more jobs in the events industry, in addition to boosting Singapore’s tourism revenue.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should possess one of the following combinations of qualification and work experience:
• 3 GCE ‘O’ Levels passes including English (Grade 1 to 7), Science (Grade 1 to 6) and 1 relevant subject (Grade 1 to 6) with at least 3 years of relevant work experience;
• NITEC or NITEC in Technology/Services (GPA 3.5 and above) with at least 2 years of relevant work experience;
• Higher NITEC or Higher NITEC in Technology/Services with at least 1 year of relevant work experience;
• Relevant WSQ Diploma with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
