About This Course
The course aims to provide students with the knowledge and technological tools to address water quality issues related to the deterioration and contamination of aquatic ecosystems such as rivers, lakes, estuaries and coastal water bodies.
What You'll Learn
"The course covers fundamental principles of environmental modeling (i.e. mass balance, reaction kinetics and transformation mechanisms) and integrates it with monitoring and sensing technologies for a comprehensive assessment of the water environment. Mathematical models are used to test hypotheses, predict and evaluate water quality problems in natural and man-made systems. These include eutrophication, dissolved oxygen imbalance, the fate and transport of toxic contaminants and pathogens, as well as sedimentwater column interactions.
The course will enable students to appreciate the problems associated with water quality and provide them with problem solving skills to predict impacts and resolve problems associated with the pollution of the environment."

Entry Requirements
Bachelor degree in Environmental Studies or Civil Engineering, relevant work experience in water quality, water management, environmental, sustainability, and other relevant areas, with sufficient fluency in English language (no TOEFL/IELTS requirements).
