PWM-Food Services: Food Safety Course Level 1
About This Course
This course is only for the low wage workers in the PWM-Food Services Sector.
Equip food handlers of both retail and non-retail food establishments with the knowledge and skills to follow food safety and hygiene procedures and policies, as well as maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of premises.
All food handlers engaged in the sale or preparation for sale of any food in Singapore Food Agency-licensed food establishments are required to attend and pass Food Safety Course Level 1 (FSC L1).
They are required to attend and pass their first refresher training by the fifth year from the date of first passing FSC L1, and thereafter the second and subsequent training every tenth year from the last refresher course passed date.
What You'll Learn
- Acquire the knowledge and skills to prepare safe and hygienic food.
Entry Requirements
- 21 years and above.
- Speak, listen and read English at Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 3, and manipulate numbers at Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 3.
- Never attended school.
- With the interest to be employed in in the food services industry or to venture into the industry.
