About This Course
Participants will discover different options for how food can be grown at home, from indoors & outdoors, in soil & in water. They will learn how to cultivate their own microgreens, from sowing to harvesting to preparing for meals.
What You'll Learn
This course takes participants on an exploration of the farm to see the many ways we can grow an edible garden, whether in soil or hydroponically, indoors or outdoors, in containers or special systems and setups. Seeing edible grow in these different ways will give participants insight into which method might best work for their own growing spaces. The hands-on segment will allow particpants to grow their own microgreens in punnets, so that even if they do not have a lot of space or sunlight at home, they can still grow their own food! This is a great starter programme for participants who have little to no experience with gardening. This will enable seniors to be more involved in social interactions in communities they live in and prevent social exclusion.
