This workshop will provide participants with an overview of the key features of implementation science. It will enable participants to review evidence for their practice and identify challenge and solutions to the implementation.
Topics include:
- Overview of the principles and methods of implementation science
- Challenges and barriers in translation of evidence in healthcare; the theory to practice gap
- Strategies and enablers of how to make evidence based practice work
What You'll Learn
1. Healthcare has adopted evidence based practice as the gold standard for the delivery of services and care.
2. The evolution of this way of working has expanded from simply reviewing the research evidence to encompassing clinical expertise, patient preferences and experience and the context of the healthcare delivery as equal corner stones.
3. Whilst there is a substantial and ever expanding volume of research evidence on healthcare and interventions, the uptake of this in clinical practice is problematic.
