What You'll Learn
Monitoring inventory means developing an understanding of what your best-selling products are, how often you turn over that particular inventory and what you need to have on hand to satisfy orders. Having the right products in stock allows you to fulfil orders in a timely manner and develop a loyal customer base.
Stocktaking or inventory checking is the physical verification of the quantities and condition of items held in a store or warehouse. It is a critical part of your inventory control and affects purchasing, production and sales. Stocktaking allows you to keep an accurate track of the physical stock you have, what's been sold, and what hasn't. It's all about comparing the physical stock to what the report says then finding any discrepancies.
