What You'll Learn

The Certificate in Control & Advanced PLC provides participants with knowledge in control engineering and programmable logic controller (PLC) technologies used in automation. It covers PLC structure, ladder diagram programming, advanced instruction sets, intelligent I/O modules, local area networks, and supervisory control and data acquisition systems. Participants will also learn fundamental control concepts including mathematical modelling, transient and error analysis, system optimisation, stability and frequency response analysis, and compensation techniques, along with the use of industrial automatic and advanced control methods.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must possess a relevant engineering Polytechnic Diploma in electrical, electronics, mechanical, mechatronics, control, automation, energy systems, info-com, computer or chemical from recognised institution or an equivalent qualification. Preference will be given to those with relevant working experience.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
