About This Course

This is a module under the Advanced Diploma in Process Control & Instrumentation.

What You'll Learn

Provides an integrated system approach to the understanding of behaviour of process control systems. Basic theoretical principles of automatic process control and to illustrate how these principles are used in modern industrial applications is presented. Operation and behaviour of practical process control systems are emphasised. Topics include introduction to process control, process dynamics, dynamic behaviour of process control loops, controller characteristics, and multi-loop control. The topics in this course is generally targeted towards process industries such as petroleum, petrochemical, chemical, pulp & paper, mining, power, pharmaceutical & food processing.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must possess a relevant engineering Polytechnic Diploma in electrical, electronics, mechanical, mechatronics, control, automation, energy systems, info-com, computer or chemical from recognised institution or an equivalent qualification. Preference will be given to those with relevant working experience.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
