About This Course

This is a module under the Advanced Diploma in Process Control & Instrumentation.

What You'll Learn

Provides student with technical and practical knowledge and skills of industrial networks that are commonly employed in the factory, process plants and building automation areas. Strong emphasis is placed on the use of modern digital communication networks for the horizontal and vertical integration of typical control and monitoring equipment in a plant. Various Fieldbus technologies will be discussed in terms of concepts, configuration, and installation & troubleshooting.
The topic of cybersecurity will be introduced in this module. Network security and operation security related to industrial control system (ICS) will be covered.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must possess a relevant engineering Polytechnic Diploma in electrical, electronics, mechanical, mechatronics, control, automation, energy systems, info-com, computer or chemical from recognised institution or an equivalent qualification. Preference will be given to those with relevant working experience.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
