About This Course
The candidate learns how to fly an radio-controlled multi-rotor according to Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) standards. The candidate learns the 6 areas of aviation prescribed by CAAS for flight planning , risk assessment and safe flight controls with a focus on heavier aircraft up to 15kg carrying a payload for complex industrial applications such as logistic transport and delivery.
What You'll Learn
Trainees will attend online lectures on aviation laws, safe drone operations, meteorology and principles of flight. Trainees will role play and work in teams to complete several real-world assignments. They will learn how to apply for activity permits and prepare flight plans for submission to Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).
Trainees will learn to conduct site survey to plan risk management.
Trainees will practise manoeuvres according to CAAS assessment criteria using simulators and field practice. Trainees will undergo field training using the same manoeuvres that will be completed during the simulator training. Trainees will practise flight patterns using three different drones with different weights and complexities – MIRS-F450 (light weight and easy to fly), Phantom 4 V2.0 (medium weight, more control required) and MIRS-S1200 (heavy and technically hardest to fly and control).
Trainees will also sit for mock tests and complete an online assessment.
The 6-day course will provide additional flight training to help trainees who are planning to operate mainly heavier drones as part of their job or business.
