About This Course

The purpose of this course is to enable and equip working adults from the industry to work on engineering problems which require knowledge of fluid mechanics and engineering thermodynamics. The course aims to train participants from aerospace manufacturing, aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), and other sectors related to green engineering (including environmental services). Students will receive training in analytics and computational modelling of engineering problems; they will learn how to design a system for maintainability and improve energy efficiency and sustainability of the system; they will develop the thinking of system integration and apply the knowledge to implement predictive maintenance. The course integrates theoretical study, computational analysis and hands-on practice to upgrade participants’ competence in engineering roles.

What You'll Learn

This course provides the student with introductory knowledge and understanding of fluid mechanics and engineering thermodynamics. Examples of engineering applications relating to fluid flow and thermodynamic principles will be used during the lectures and tutorial exercises. The latest technologies in industry 4.0 and green engineering will be introduced. This is an integral part of the undergraduate curriculum for students specializing in aerospace engineering. The subject concepts and practical applications will be delivered through seminars and laboratory classes.
