Text Analytics
About This Course
This module is part of the Post-Diploma Certificate in Advanced Business Analytics.
This module covers the process of Data Analytics for unstructured textual data from various sources such as databases, websites or social media, from text-preprocess using NLP (natural language processing) to create transformed structured data and apply different text and data analytics techniques based on business requirements, and finally integrate with visualisation to draw insights for the business.
What You'll Learn
• Describe and implement a text analytics process on a given corpus of text documents
• Explain and perform text pre-processing on corpus of documents using various NLP
• Evaluate and explain the considerations when applying the appropriate text analytics techniques for the given business requirements
• Apply text analytics techniques such as text clustering, topic extraction, network analysis, sentiment analysis, text classification on transformed text data
• Interpret the results of the different clustering, topics modelling, sentiment analysis and text classification algorithms
Entry Requirements
Applicants should possess at least a local diploma qualification or equivalent in business, engineering, technology, or any other disciplines from recognised institution.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
