HAZOP Study for Engineers, Scientists and Managers
About This Course
On the completion of the course, the participants will gain the following:
• the Concept of Risk and Process Safety Management (PSM),
• the principles and methodology of a HAZOP study,
• the resources required for a HAZOP study,
• how the HAZOP study progresses,
• the benefits and deliverables of using HAZOP study,
• provide opportunity to participate in a practical HAZOP study workshop to identify and to mitigate hazards, causes and consequences.
This 1-Day HAZOP Course will cover the following main topics:
• Introduction to the Concept of Risk and Process Safety Management (PSM),
• The Theory behind the HAZOP Study,
• The HAZOP study methodology – nodes, deviations, causes,
• The HAZOP study methodology – consequences, safeguards, recommendations,
• Who should participate in a HAZOP study – roles and responsibilities,
• Documents required for a HAZOP study,
• HAZOP Study Technique for Batch Process, Activity-Based, Procedural
• Conducting a HAZOP study based on an actual process in the oil & gas industry to identify and to mitigate hazards, causes and consequences.
What You'll Learn
Conducting HAZOP Study is one of the pillars of Process Safety Management (PSM) which is highly relevant for the Safety Case Study in many industries in Singapore, such as Oil & Gas Industry, Refineries, Chemicals and Petrochemical Production Industry, Pharmaceutical Production Industry, Plastic Production Industry, etc.
This HAZOP workshop will help the participants to understand and apply the HAZOP study methodology and terminology, its benefits and limitations, the roles and responsibilities of HAZOP team members, and when the HAZOP study technique should be applied to assess the hazards and risks of their process and/or operation facilities. During the workshop, the participants will have the hands-on opportunity to participate in a HAZOP review study based on an actual process in the industry, to identify and to mitigate hazards, causes and consequences. Participants will also have the opportunity to share HAZOP study experiences.
