At the end of this course, learners should be able to:
- identify different mentoring techniques to apply in different situations
- obtaining various sources for assistance
- building a development action plan for the mentees
- supporting mentees with the right skills for self-development growth
What You'll Learn
Mentoring can help youth as they go through challenging life transitions, including dealing with stressful changes at home or transitioning to adulthood. Close, healthy, supportive relationships between mentors and mentees are key to the success of mentoring. Without effective and committed mentors who are well-prepared and equipped with the right skills, mentoring programmes can risk harming young people who are paired with mentors ill-equipped to meet the mentees' needs. This course will focus on empowering learners to be confident and effective mentors through lots of scenario-based practice and roleplays where they will get to apply their facilitation and communication skills as mentors.
Entry Requirements
Able to read and write English at WPL level 4 minimally
At least 21 years old and above
Complete secondary school
