About This Course
In this course you will learn a 5-part process to understand learners and learning experiences, learn to future cast (and future proof) your learning designs, and be inclusive to various learner preferences, as well as being able to quickly test learning design ideas with users and stakeholders:
PART 1: Current learning experience audit.
PART 2: Learning modalities, trends and future casting
PART 3: Learner profiles and learning theories (e.g. self-determination theory, motivational theories)
PART 4: Principles of inclusive design for learning variety
PART 5: Quick idea mock-up methods for testing of learning design ideas
What You'll Learn
For participants looking to design or redesign effective learning spaces.
Designing an effective learning space can be a complex and challenging task. One of the biggest challenges is accommodating and finding alignment within the diverse needs, preferences and work situations of different learners and users of the space. Learning spaces must be flexible and adaptable, allowing for a variety of teaching and learning methods.
The course is conducted over synchronous and asynchronous e-learning, coupled with a one-day workshop that uses a hands-on approach in answering these questions:
1. How do we know and design for the different learner types?
2. How can learning spaces be flexible and adaptable?
3. How does digital tools fit in?
4. What kind of environment is effective in learning?
5. Is my learning design back-dated and irrelevant today?
6. How do I achieve effective and enjoyable learning design without bursting my budget?
7. Can I be inclusive and cater to varying needs of learners?
