About This Course
The course has two parts. First, it covers in detail the two areas of GIS which really demonstrate GIS as a powerful enabling technology. For the construction industry, BIM is the other technology that will impact the productivity of the industry.
What You'll Learn
Web GIS is a specialised area of GIS which combines GIS and the internet. In terms of impact, web GIS has undoubtedly brought a paradigm change to the way GIS is consumed. Web GIS applications are probably the most common type of general GIS applications consumed by many users who may not be even aware that they are using a GIS application. Using GIS as a platform to integrate data, data from BIM and different systems can be harnessed to benefit all the stakeholders in the built environment.
