About This Course
On completion of the module, students should be able to:
1. identify and analyse individual strengths, weaknesses, vulnerabilities and limitations;
2. utilise tools to develop self-awareness, habitual self-reflection and exercise reframing;
3. exercise positivity and a growth mindset;
4. evaluate personal effectiveness and developmental needs; and
5. establish a collaborative network of peer support for learning and development.
What You'll Learn
This module will equip students to identify individual strengths and areas of development. Students will learn the importance of self-leadership before leading others. Students will develop self-awareness, self-regulation, self-reflection and self-efficacy for leadership learning; use tools to help understanding of their personal character traits, develop the habit of prioritising daily reflection and practise reframing. Students will also learn to evaluate one’s professional effectiveness and developmental needs, establish developmental plans and set goals; build networks to collaborate and stay connected with the community of learners and practitioners which will in turn support one’s leadership learning journey.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for ADECL PDC1 only, candidates need to have met the following criteria:
a) Have completed an ECDA-recognised diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) or equivalent;
b) Be an ECDA–certified Level 2 teacher; and
c) Have at least 4 years of teaching experience post-L2 certification.
