Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
• Understand the theoretical foundation for testing methods
• Perform testing & commissioning of electrical installations up to 500kVA
What You'll Learn
• Inspection & Testing of Installations up to 500kVA
o Test instruments used for LV works and use instruments for different applications
o Purpose of inspection and testing for low voltage installation in compliance with safety requirement in CP 5
o The methods of testing, emphasising the need to follow the correct sequence specified in CP 5 leading to successful energisation of a Main Switchboard not exceeding 500 kVA
o Common non-compliances and understand how these can be avoided
o Earth electrode test and earth loop impendence test
• Commissioning of Switchboard up to 500kVA
• Types of switchboard up to 500kVA
o Switchboard requirements
o Operational requirements before commissioning the switchboard
o Types of tests to be conducted on commissioning the switchboard

Entry Requirements
Nitec in Electrical Technology or Higher Nitec/Diploma in any Engineering field.
