Care Givers and Mental Health (Part of SCTP)
About This Course
This course introduces participants to the essential aspects of caregiving and mental health in Singapore. Participants will learn about caregiving responsibilities, including instrumental activities of daily living, basic caregiving skills, and resources such as financial subsidies and grants. The course also examines tools like the Zarit Burden Interview and Patient Health Questionnaire, alongside approaches to active ageing, dementia care, and managing very challenging behaviors. Attention is given to rising mental health concerns, with coverage of conditions such as depression, anxiety, and panic attacks, as well as strategies for cultivating mental wellness and self‑care for caregivers. Participants will explore practical ways to access support and services, gaining a clearer understanding of how caregiving and mental health intersect in sustaining patient care and caregiver resilience.
