Implement Info & Cyber Security Risk Management Plan (Synchronous E-Learning)
About This Course
The historical and logical focus on technology in cybersecurity stems from computer scientists' early efforts to address attack and defense techniques. While cybersecurity technologies and activities are important, solely relying on technology can undermine its protective capacity. Not all vulnerabilities can be fixed, and prioritization is crucial. Understanding a company's critical business activities and incident response to mitigate cyberattacks that pose the most harm is essential. Cybersecurity technologists must align their decisions with the company's operations to avoid increasing risks and disrupting business. The specialized nature of cybersecurity often excludes nontechnical stakeholders, such as board members, from meaningful discussions. Shifting the approach to protecting valuable activities and incorporating cybersecurity incident response enables board members to effectively oversee cyber risk management.
Given the increasing frequency of cybersecurity breaches around the world, including Singapore, it is critical for professionals of all backgrounds to gain knowledge and competencies in the fields of cybersecurity incident response and risk assessment. This requirement is especially important for organizations involved in online business processes.
