Securing the Future with Quantum Computing and Cryptography
About This Course
This course equips learners with the essential foundations to understand, design, and apply quantum computing technologies. Beginning with the postulates of quantum mechanics and the necessary mathematical tools, participants will build a strong grounding in the physics underlying quantum systems. From there, they will explore quantum computers, commercial platforms, and the key phenomena of superposition and entanglement.
Learners will then progress to quantum gates and circuits, gaining hands-on knowledge of single- and multi-qubit operations, Bell and GHZ states, and techniques like phase kickback. The course also covers quantum protocols including teleportation, superdense coding, and the BB84 quantum key distribution protocol, highlighting their impact on secure communications.
Building on these concepts, participants will study core quantum algorithms such as Deutsch, Deutsch–Jozsa, Bernstein–Vazirani, Grover’s algorithm, and the Quantum Fourier Transform, understanding their role in solving computationally intensive problems.
The course then focuses on quantum cryptography and safety, introducing classical cryptography, the quantum threat posed by Shor’s algorithm, and the field of post-quantum cryptography (PQC). Learners will also evaluate applications of quantum computing in finance, healthcare, and science, bridging theory with real-world use cases.
Finally, participants will explore the critical area of quantum error correction, learning about bit and phase flip errors, fault tolerance, and emerging architectures that will define the future of quantum computers.
By the end of the course, learners will not only understand the theoretical principles of quantum computing but also develop the skills to apply quantum algorithms, cryptographic protocols, and safety measures—preparing them to spearhead innovation in a quantum-driven future.
