About This Course
The Industrial attachment aims to provide the necessary technical skills training to equip new entrants to the healthcare sector, to support both in-patient support care and therapy support services delivery in both acute and community care settings as an enhanced Healthcare Assistant/Nursing Aide with Therapy Support knowledge and skills.
What You'll Learn
1. Communicate effectively with the client and the therapist
2. Apply infection control practices for self, environment and equipment
3. Set up the environment / equipment for therapy session in accordance with safety and organisational procedures
4. Operate various therapy equipment safely and effectively
5. Assist to move or transfer clients safely
6. Assist the therapists in assessing clients’ status for suitability to start therapy sessions or continue with therapy sessions
7. Assist therapists in carrying out treatment plans
8. Perform therapy procedures according to protocols as instructed by the therapists
9.Provide clients and caregivers on interventions, exercises or use of assistive devices, as instructed by therapists
10. Appraise caregiver education for exercises and other activities
11.Perform workplace documentation and storage processe in accordance with organisation procedures
12.Perform maintenance of therapy equipment and appliances in accordance with organisation procedures
13. Perform effective communication and proper documentation and reporting of incidents at the workplace
