Shaping Practices for Diverse Learners (Chinese) 设计与实施引导多样性学习者的方法
About This Course
This short course requires participants to video record their own teaching and gather data of the lesson design, classroom environment and interactions within the classroom for analysis in order to kick start the reflective process for teaching & learning to meet the needs of ALL children using current knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices. Knowledge of diverse learning abilities and positive interactions with children in a well-designed learning environment will be revisited. The Universal Design for Learning (UDL) will be introduced, and participants will apply its principles (multiple means of representation, engagement, and expression) to design the classroom environment set up as well as learning plans. Communication strategies and different types of feedback will be covered. Participants will then write an action plan and implement in their teaching. They will evaluate and reflect on key factors that determine positive classroom dynamics and engagement of children with different learning abilities based on a redesigned lesson and present to seniors and peers in the Centre to seek feedback as part of the change process. Documentations of the learning cycle will subsequently be shared in class for comments and feedback.
