About This Course

This modular certificate gives students a good foundation in the area of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

What You'll Learn

The subjects in this module introduce the basic concepts of data communications, networking and operating systems which provide students with fundamental ICT concepts and skills. Students will also be introduced to modern computing platforms and basic IT security. This would enable them to be familiar with technologies being used in modern enterprises and enable them to consider how to leverage IT security when adopting technologies.

Entry Requirements

The minimum entry requirements for the academic CET course are as follows:
GCE ‘O’ Level
3 relevant ‘O’ Level passes and 1 year of relevant working experience

GPA ≥2.0 OR
GPA ≥1.5 and 1 year of relevant working experience
OR
Nitec
GPA ≥3.5 OR
GPA ≥3.0 and 1 year of relevant working experience
OR
Higher Nitec in Technology/Services
GPA ≥2.0 and 1 year of relevant working experience
OR
Nitec in Technology/Services
GPA ≥3.5 and 1 year of relevant working experience
OR
WSQ Qualification
Relevant WSQ Qualification with 1 year of relevant working experience and WSQ Workplace Literary Statement of Attainment (SOA) (Level 6) AND Workplace Numeracy Statement of Attainment (SOA) (Level 6)
OR
Without relevant academic qualifications
At least 2 years of relevant working experience
