About This Course
Participants will gain knowledge to help them be aware and understand the core characteristics of the Autism. They will also learn how individuals with autism are impacted by these characteristics.
Participants will be presented with basic practical tips and strategies that they can effectively apply to:
• meet the learning needs of individuals with Autism
• plan for priority intervention

Autism is a developmental condition that affects individuals in the way they communicate, form relationships and interact with others. Autism may also affect the individual’s learning and information processing styles. Having a good understanding of the condition is the first step and the key to developing effective, individualised intervention strategies for individualson the autism spectrum.
The Fundamentals of Autism workshop aims to increase participant awareness through an introduction to Autism and the “Culture of Autism”. It is particularly relevant to those who wish to learn more about autism to better teach, support and interact with individuals on the autism spectrum.
