About This Course
This course is only for the low wage workers in the PWM-Cleaning Sector.
This course teaches learners the proper methods and procedures to perform advanced cleaning of hard floor and carpeted horizontal surfaces.
What You'll Learn
- Prepare to perform advanced cleaning of horizontal surfaces
- Perform mechanical scrubbing of hard floor surface
- Perform mechanical burnishing of hard floor surface
- Perform mechanical stripping and waxing of vinyl surfaces
- Perform advanced spot and stain removal on carpet
- Perform shampoo cleaning of carpet
- Perform hot water extraction cleaning of carpet
- Reinstate work area after completion of work activities
Entry Requirements
Required years of relevant experience: Nil – This is an entry level course that is targeted at new entrants, including mid-career changers, to the cleaning industry.
Age of learners: likely to be between 18 to 70
Gender: no preference
Physical fitness of learners:
- able to stand and walk for long periods
- no serious speech impediment
The following entry requirements are preferred, not mandatory:
- Develop reading, listening and speaking of English to a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) Literacy Level 1
- Develop numeracy skills to a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) Numeracy Level 1
