About This Course
The Singapore Story, according to popular renditions of the island state’s development, has been one that focuses on its spectacular growth and how it succeeded against all odds. Yet, there are parts of the Story that are less well known and understood. The Story is also one that is still unfolding. This course examines the Singapore Story from different perspectives and approaches, ranging from the historical, politico-economic and socio-cultural. Through an interdisciplinary exploration of the concepts of nation, identity, culture and society in Singapore, students will gain a more informed and in-depth understanding of Singapore’s past, present and future trajectories.
