About This Course
Participants will learn the basics of playing the dizi, including proper care, holding techniques, note reading, diaphragmatic breathing, fingering, and articulations like slurring and tonguing. Through hands-on practice, students will gain experience performing melodies across an octave range and develop an appreciation for dizi music, combining technical skills with musical understanding.
What You'll Learn
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
-Pasting dimo(笛膜) and play exercises with the first three notes in D major.
-Diaphragmatic breathing with long note excercises.
-Simple musical note-reading with higher notes played.
-Tonguing and slurring with simple melodies played.
-Octave playing with harmonics.
-Music appreciation with well-known dizi solos.
-Simple ornaments like mordants and trills.
-Intro to pieces for grade one dizi exam for basic course 2.
