About This Course
This course is aimed at having students acquire effective drug information retrieval skills, literature evaluation skills and gaining a basic understanding of common biostatistical and study design principles
What You'll Learn
This course aims to provide fundamentals important to all areas of pharmacy practice. In addition to being provided with an overview of bio-statistical methods and applications, students will learn how to use a computer package, Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), to perform statistical analyses. This course will also cover various research designs and methods, including randomized clinical trials and quality improvement studies. Furthermore, students will acquire essential knowledge and skills in both drug information retrieval and literature evaluation. These skills will enable students to think critically and to have the ability to systematically gather, select, process, manage, and disseminate relevant drug information.
Entry Requirements
(a) Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (with or without Honours classification) or an equivalent qualification
(b) Registered pharmacists with the Singapore Pharmacy Council (or overseas equivalent), and holding a current and valid practicing certificate
(c) Candidates are preferred to have at least 1 years’ working experience as a patient‐care pharmacist post pre‐registration training
