What You'll Learn

This course introduces students basic statistics theory and fundamental knowledge in econometric methods commonly applied in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR). These methods can be used to evaluate effectiveness of technologies, assess policies for select products/services, and quantify disease burden using real world evidence data.
The course begins with basic statistical theory review and econometric analysis with the simple linear regression model in order to develop a foundational understanding of data analysis, model building, and hypothesis testing. We then extend the analyses to include multivariate controls and binary outcomes. All examples will be based on real world applications.
