PTY6202C Advanced Musculoskeletal Practice 2 (Classroom, Synchronous & Asynchronous)

The module considers the application of manual therapy methods within a holistic treatment model for people experiencing pain and dysfunction in the lower quadrant. Skills introduced in this module will be regional, however assessment and treatment consideration will look at the whole person. Students will evaluate evidence based and clinical concepts along with advanced practical skills used in musculoskeletal setting. A clinical portfolio will be an important reflective piece of work for this module, documenting the integration of communication, clinical reasoning and practical skills. Peer based learning with instructor feedback will give the students the opportunity to improve their skills encouraging clinical reasoning and decision making in musculoskeletal practice. Students in this module will undergo clinical practice education in a healthcare institution to advance their clinical practice in the area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
